When loves comes to town estaba incluída en Rattle and Hum (1988) y fue el tercer single del célebre álbum de los irlandeses (y cuya cara b era la versión del Dancing barefoot de Patti Smith) que alcanzó el 6º puesto en las listas inglesas de singles.
Bono y cia dejaron de tocarla en 1993, pero B.B.King aún continuó intepretándola en directo. Al final de su actuación en Vancouver, Bono terminó, en alusión a la mítica canción del Rey del Blues, “the thrill will never be gone”.
