Javier Bardem, candidato al Oscar por tercera vez.
En la lista de nominados podemos constatar una relativa sorpresa, puesto que la película de los Coen, olvidada en los Globos de Oro, Valor de ley (True Grit), ha sumado 10 candidaturas. El discurso del rey ha conseguido un total de 12 nominaciones, mientras que La red social cuenta con ocho nominaciones. No hay que olvidar que Toy Story 3 también es candidata a mejor película, mejor guión adaptado y mejor cinta de animación. Otras películas con nominaciones ya esperadas son Black swan, Winters bone, Origen (Inception), 127 horas, El luchador y Los chicos están bien, sin olvidar la candidatura a mejor documental de Exit through the Gift Shop, a cargo de Banksy y Jaimie D’Cruz.
